5 o'clock. Bright and early.
Alarm starts sounding, gotta get to work early.
Stoked to have a job gotta pay my rent,
Gotta get that money save it for retirement.
Grab a granola bar on the way out the door,
Half asleep I think of life and that I really want more.
Listen to the radio sitting in traffic,
Gotta negative attitude already that's a bad habit.
Rush in, clock in, and get to working,

I put my time in, a full 8 hour shift.

Why should I care to die a normal guy that's my thought.
They build me up then watch me drop, they make hot then cool me off.
I trade a 3rd of my day so they can get they product off.

That's a 3rd of my life that's really pushing me to succeed.
But I should be happy with where I'm at a lotta people have it worse then me.

I put it all on the line without seeing a dime,
I think it's finally time for me to get what's mine.
